Not that I need an excuse to drink Bourbon first thing the morning.  Will definitely try once I finish this Bloody Mary.

Charles Dickens’s Christmas Eggnog

6 egg yolks, well beaten
3 Tbs. powdered sugar, sifted
1 cup Bourbon
1 pt whipped cream
6 eggwhites, whipped into peaks but not dry
nutmeg if desired

Add the powdered sugar gradually to the beaten egg yolks. Add the Bourbon a little at a time to the mixture. Add the whipped cream and the beaten eggwhites, folding gently in. Chill. Serve in silver cups with a little grated nutmeg on top if desired.
